VentCalc uses artificial intelligence to assist with floor-plan analysis, ventilation sizing, and calculations. You acknowledge that:
Building data you upload is processed in-memory only for the duration of your session and is not retained on our servers after your session ends. Operational metadata — including your drawing filename, analysis outcome, and account identifier — may be transmitted to our internal monitoring systems (see Section 3) for service quality and error-tracking purposes.
We use OpenAI (GPT-4o) to analyse image-based drawings and Anthropic (Claude) to analyse PDF drawings. Both providers have been configured with opt-out of training on user data to protect your intellectual property and confidential building information.
Important: VentCalc outputs are indicative and intended for early-stage design support only. Final design responsibility remains with the project team, engineer of record, or suitably qualified consultant. See our Terms & Conditions for full details of our liability position.

We implement Google Consent Mode v2 on the marketing site (ventcalc.ai). If you click Reject all, Google Tag Manager is not loaded at all — no scripts, pixels, or identifiers are set. If you click Accept all, Google Analytics and Tag Manager are activated and the consent state is updated to “granted” for all storage types.
You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser's local storage (key: vc_consent). The banner will re-appear on your next visit.
We use Microsoft Clarity on the authenticated application (app.ventcalc.ai) to understand how professionals navigate the tool — session replays and aggregated heatmaps help us identify usability issues. Clarity is not used on the marketing site (ventcalc.ai). Our legal basis is Legitimate Interests (Art. 6(1)(f) UK GDPR): improving the service for authenticated, professional users. You may opt out of Clarity session recording via Microsoft's privacy settings.
To exercise any right, email legal@ventcalc.co.uk. We will respond within one calendar month (UK GDPR Art. 12).

You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you believe we have mishandled your personal data:
