These Terms & Conditions govern your use of https://ventcalc.ai and associated services operated by VentCalc Ltd, registered in England and Wales (Company No. 17123275). By using VentCalc you agree to these terms.

1. Use of the Service

VentCalc provides indicative ventilation calculations to support feasibility, option testing, and early-stage design workflows. By using this service you acknowledge that:

• All outputs are indicative only and intended for early-stage design support.
• VentCalc does not replace professional engineering judgement.
• Outputs must not be used as final design, construction documentation, or compliance submission without independent verification by a qualified engineer.
• You must independently verify all outputs before acting on them.
• Results depend entirely on the accuracy and completeness of the inputs you provide.

2. No Professional Advice

VentCalc does not provide engineering, design, or consultancy services. Specifically:

• Outputs are generated automatically based on user inputs and embedded assumptions.
• Use of this platform does not create an engineer-client relationship between VentCalc Ltd and the user.
• No output from VentCalc constitutes professional engineering advice.
• VentCalc is not a substitute for engagement with a qualified mechanical or building services engineer.

3. AI Processing & Outputs

VentCalc uses artificial intelligence to assist with calculations, floor-plan interpretation, and ventilation sizing. You acknowledge that:

• AI outputs are generated automatically and depend on user inputs and assumptions.
• There is no guarantee of accuracy, completeness, or suitability for any specific project.
• AI interpretation of uploaded drawings may be incomplete or incorrect.
• All outputs are indicative and intended for early-stage feasibility and design support only.

The output confidence level (Feasibility / Manufacturer Enquiry / Design Basis) displayed in reports is an indication of data quality only and does not represent a professional engineering certification.

4. User Responsibility

You are solely responsible for:

• The accuracy and completeness of all inputs provided to the platform.
• Verifying all outputs against applicable UK Building Regulations, Approved Documents, and relevant standards.
• Ensuring compliance with Approved Document F, Approved Document L, BS EN 16798-3, and all other relevant regulations.
• Engaging a qualified mechanical engineer or building services consultant where required.
• Any decisions made based on VentCalc outputs.

Final engineering responsibility remains with the project consultant, contractor, or engineer of record on each project.

5. Limitation of Liability

VentCalc is provided on an “as available” basis without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted under UK law:

• VentCalc Ltd makes no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of any output.
• VentCalc Ltd accepts no liability for any loss or damage arising from reliance on VentCalc outputs, including but not limited to:
  • Design errors or omissions
  • Construction defects or issues
  • Regulatory non-compliance or compliance failures
  • Financial loss or project cost overruns
  • Project delays
  • Third-party claims arising from use of VentCalc outputs
• In no event shall VentCalc Ltd's total liability exceed the amount paid by you for the specific calculation in question.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

6. Payment & Refunds

Payments are processed securely by Stripe, Inc. VentCalc Ltd does not store payment card data.

• Single reports (£14): Due to the digital nature of the product, reports are non-refundable once generated and downloaded.
• Unlimited subscription (£89/mo): You may cancel at any time. No refund is issued for the current billing period.

7. Intellectual Property

All software, algorithms, interfaces, and content on VentCalc are the intellectual property of VentCalc Ltd. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the platform without written permission.

Reports generated by VentCalc may be used by you for your own project purposes. You retain responsibility for any data you upload.

8. Acceptable Use

You must not:

• Use VentCalc outputs as final compliance documentation without independent engineering verification.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer or extract the calculation methodology.
• Misrepresent VentCalc outputs as professionally certified engineering calculations.
• Upload data belonging to third parties without appropriate authorisation.

9. Data & Privacy

Use of VentCalc is also governed by our Privacy & Cookie Policy. Building data uploaded for calculations is processed in-memory only and is not retained after your session ends.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of VentCalc after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Material changes will be notified via the website.
